Every chapter of In Harmonie’s story is marked by the unmistakable presence of God
At in Harmonie, we are a Christ-centred community rooted in the love, truth(word), and person of Jesus Christ. We seek to live in faithful response to God's invitation and our calling to be a place of rest, restoration, and reconciliation – for individuals, communities, and nations.
Our convictions are grounded in the eternal truths of Scripture, revealed in both the Old and New Testaments, and upheld by the historical, orthodox Christian faith. We believe that right belief shapes right living, and that theology is not merely theory, but a way of life – lived in worship, service, and surrendered obedience to God. We are an interdenominational, intergenerational, & multicultural ministry called to serve God, His kingdom and His people.
We believe that theology is not just belief, but a lived reality – shaping how we listen, welcome, serve, and create. Rooted in Scripture and guided by the Spirit, our faith is expressed through rhythms of prayer, reflection, worship, learning, and shared life. We embrace silence and stillness as spiritual practices. We foster generous hospitality that honours each person’s dignity. We pursue unity amid diversity, and we seek to be faithful stewards of the land and all that has been entrusted to us.
This Statement of Belief is not intended to be exhaustive, but to clearly express the core doctrines that unite us as a community. In humility, we recognize that we “know in part” (1 Cor. 13:9), and we hold these truths with both conviction and grace. We welcome honest questions and theological dialogue, always seeking unity in the essentials, grace in the non – essentials, and love in all things.
As we continue to grow in Christ, we anchor ourselves in these foundational beliefs, trusting that they will shape our worship, guide our work, and sustain our shared life together – for the glory of God and the good of His Kingdom.

We hold these truths in humility, seeking to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbours as Christ has loved us. *(John 13:34–35; 1 Corinthians 13:12)
We believe in one eternal, triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – who is Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer of all. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ
Holy Spirit
We affirm the Bible as the inspired, authoritative Word of God, revealing His character, will, and salvation plan. It is our final guide for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 119:105)
We believe in Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, who was born of a virgin, lived sinlessly, died on the cross for our sins, descended to hell, rose bodily, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory. (John 1:1–14; Colossians 1:15–20; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11)
We believe we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ – not by works but by the redemptive work of the cross. Through receiving forgiveness through repentance and faith, we are forgiven, reconciled, and made new. (Ephesians 2:8–9; Rom 3:23, Romans 5:8–11; 2 Corinthians 5:17)
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells believers, empowering us for holy living, spiritual growth, and fruitful service. He convicts, guides, and unifies the Body of Christ. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:22–25)
We believe in the one, holy, global Church – the Body of Christ – called to worship, witness, serve, and make disciples of all nations. (Ephesians 4:4–6; Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42–47)
We believe all people are made in God’s image – uniquely created, deeply loved, and sacred from conception to death. God created us male and female and designed marriage as a lifelong union between one man and one woman. Though fallen, we are redeemable and invited into wholeness in Christ. (Genesis 1:26–27; Psalm 139:13–16; Matthew 19:4–6; Romans 3:23; Colossians 3:10)
We believe the Gospel brings unity across cultures, generations, and divisions. As ambassadors of reconciliation, we are called to love, justice, mercy, and peace. (2 Corinthians 5:18–20; Ephesians 2:14–22; Micah 6:8, Gal 3:27 – 28,)
We believe God is restoring all things through Christ. We join His mission by embodying rest, restoration, and reconciliation at in Harmonie, in our homes, communities, and nation. (Isaiah 58:12; Romans 8:18–21; Revelation 21:1–5)
We believe God is restoring all things through Christ. We join His mission by embodying rest, restoration, and reconciliation at in Harmonie, in our homes, communities, and nation. (Isaiah 58:12; Romans 8:18–21; Revelation 21:1–5)
We believe in the visible, personal return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and to establish His Kingdom fully and forever. (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 22:12–13)
We believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended to hell.
The third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
SHORTER WESTMINSTER CONFESSION OF FAITH
Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.
Christ is the foundation of all we are and do. We seek to reflect His character, obey His teachings, and live in constant communion with Him as Lord, Saviour, and Friend. (Colossians 1:17–18; John 15:5)
We root our beliefs, decisions, and practices in the truth of Scripture, allowing God’s Word to shape our worldview and daily living. (Psalm 119:105; 2 Timothy 3:16)
Prayer is not only speaking to God but listening to Him. We cultivate stillness to hear His voice and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. (1 Samuel 3:10; John 10:27; Psalm 46:10)
We embrace servant – hearted leadership, following the example of Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve. We lay aside ego and status to lift others up. (Mark 10:45; Philippians 2:3–8)
We open our hearts and spaces to others, practicing radical welcome as Christ welcomed us. Hospitality is both a posture and a practice. (Romans 15:7; Hebrews 13:2)
We celebrate the unique image of God in every person, welcoming cultural, racial, generational, and denominational diversity as a reflection of God’s kingdom. (Revelation 7:9; Galatians 3:28)
We acknowledge that we see in part and prophesy in part (1 Corinthians 13:9). Our statement of faith and guiding values are held with conviction and humility, knowing that faithful believers may differ in understanding or emphasis. We remain open to correction and growth under the Lordship of Christ. We are a community on a journey – learning, listening, repenting, discerning. We invite others to journey with us in humility and love. (1 Corinthians 13:9; Micah 6:8; James 1:19–20; Philippians 3:12–14)
While we collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds and worldviews, we are unapologetically rooted in the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of Scripture. This shapes our worldview, relationships, and decision – making. (Colossians 1:15–20; John 14:6; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; Romans 12:2)
We affirm the core tenets of the Christian faith as outlined in our core beliefs and shared across denominational lines. In matters not essential to salvation or discipleship, we seek to hold space with humility, grace, and truth for respectful dialogue and mutual learning, always pursuing love and reconciliation (Romans 14:1–5; Ephesians 4:2–6; 1 Corinthians 13:1–7; Colossians 3:13–14)
in Harmonie is an interdenominational, intergenerational, and multicultural ministry. We welcome and honour the diverse backgrounds and traditions represented in the Body of Christ and believe God uses our differences to enrich our collective witness. (Revelation 7:9; Galatians 3:28; Romans 12:4–5; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27)
We affirm the traditional position of the historical and global church: that marriage is a lifelong and exclusive covenant between one man and one woman, established by God as a sacred institution. We uphold this with love and compassion toward all people. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:31–32; Hebrews 13:4)
Not all who work with or contribute to in Harmonie (as guests, worship leaders, teachers, or facilitators) share every detail of our faith expression and they don’t speak on behalf of in Harmonie. However, we aim to partner with those whose lives align with our values and who contribute meaningfully to our mission. (Philippians 1:15–18; 1 Thessalonians 5:21; Romans 12:4–8; Proverbs 27:17)
While we may be inspired by or collaborate with various individuals, churches, or organizations, such association does not imply full theological, political, or philosophical alignment and they don’t speak on behalf of in Harmonie. We consider all partnerships through prayerful discernment. (1 John 4:1; Philippians 1:9–10; Acts 17:11; Proverbs 3:5–6)
We are mindful that our words, actions, and hospitality reflect Christ to the world. Therefore, we commit to pursuing integrity, transparency, and repentance where we fall short. (Matthew 5:16; 2 Corinthians 4:2; 1 Peter 2:12; Proverbs 11:3)
We strive to walk with integrity, stewarding resources and relationships with accountability and grace. We welcome feedback and remain open to correction as we continue to grow. (Proverbs 4:25–27; Luke 16:10; Titus 2:7–8; 2 Corinthians 8:21)
